First Father's Day

I am short on time right now, but know that there is a funny story to accompany our first Father's Day. It involves a soccer ball, 90 km an hour wind and pouring rain. Interest peaked?

Love you Matthew...best Daddy ever. You truly deserve a month.

And They're Off.....

The decision has been made to escape the clutches of Port Coquitlam and venture to the opposite coast (or as Matt says, the 'Right Coast'). Now, let me tell you this is no small venture.

There are bills to be canceled.
Boxes to be packed.
Mail to be forwarded.
Jobs to be left.
Jobs to be found.
Lease to break.
House to find.

We have decided to buy a cube van (!) and Matthew is going to drive our stuff clean across the country. His Dad is flying out to be his wing man. Oliver and I have opted out of the 5 day drive.

While I will certainly miss Vancouver, I am excited about a fresh beginning. Finding friends who don't disappear the minute you mention you are pregnant. Being close to family.
Most importantly, I think I am looking forward to getting great deals on lobster (Matt's good friend is a lobster broker!).

Scattered Pic-churs

Here are a couple of pics from our trip. I have been thinking about my trip a lot lately (maybe trying to escape the present..lol).

This is us getting a Christmas ornament from Matt's family-it is the first ornament we received for baby! It is made out of Matt's blanket from when he was a little wee baby...

How could you not love this man-look how happy and excited he is! I love that he is pointing to my tummy to notify others that there is a baby in there, and that that is who the ornament is for.

Last but not least, this is my Mom, Matthew and I at Whitepoint Beach. This is just hours after we got engaged. Exciting stuff, no?
